To rank listings, GoatRent uses Bayesian Reputation Math: it weights a score by its volume of reviews, so a single outlier review cannot push a listing to the top and true reliability surfaces first. Furthermore, to prevent fake reviews, users can only rate each other after a verified transaction has taken place.

To make decision-making effortless, we turn reviews into a single Global Karma Score out of 5. It combines the reviews you receive as an owner, the reviews you receive as a renter, and the reviews of your listings, so consistent, reliable behavior shows through. In the future, our most highly rated members will also earn a Golden Checkmark.
