Privacy Policy
Last updated July 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GOATRENT.COM CORP ("Company," "GoatRent," "we," "us," and "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit or use our website at https://goatrent.com, our mobile applications, and the features, tools, and services we provide (collectively, the "Platform"). Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given in our Terms of Use.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use. Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in more detail in our Cookie Policy.
What does this Privacy Policy cover?
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Platform and in our related communications with you. It does not apply to:
- Third-party websites, applications, or services, including Stripe and other Third-Party Services, which process information under their own terms and privacy policies; or
- The practices of other Users. When you share information with another User — for example, through a Listing, your Profile, the Messaging Tool, or off-Platform communications — that User's collection and use of your information is not governed by this Privacy Policy. Share only the information reasonably necessary for the interaction.
What information do we collect?
Information you provide to us:
- Account and contact information, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and login credentials.
- Profile information, such as a photo, location, description, verification status, and ratings.
- Listings and other content, such as Equipment descriptions, photographs, videos, serial numbers, pricing, availability, condition records, and documents you choose to upload.
- Messages and communications, including messages you send through the Messaging Tool, inquiries, reviews, and correspondence with our support and legal teams. As described in the Terms of Use, we may monitor, preserve, review, and disclose Messaging Tool communications to operate the Platform, enforce our terms, protect Users, respond to legal process, or address security, fraud, or safety concerns.
- Advertising Services and billing information. If you purchase Advertising Services, payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive limited transaction records (such as order details, billing name, and payment confirmations) but do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We do not collect, receive, hold, or transmit payments between Users for Equipment Transactions.
- Identity verification information, as described in the "Identity verification and biometric information" section below.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, health information, or financial account credentials) through Listings, your Profile, or the Messaging Tool.
Information collected automatically:
- Device and usage information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, links clicked, referring and exit pages, search terms, and date and time stamps.
- Approximate location inferred from your IP address or provided through your device settings, where you permit it.
- Cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and web beacons, as described in our Cookie Policy. We use analytics services such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics to understand how the Platform is used. You can manage preferences through the Cookie Preference Center.
Information from other sources:
- Verification results reported to us by Stripe, as described below.
- Information from other Users, such as condition records, reviews, reports, or messages that reference you.
- Publicly available information, such as business registry or contact information, where permitted by law.
- Service providers and partners, such as aggregated advertising and analytics measurement data.
Identity verification and biometric information
The Platform may offer a "Verified Identity" feature through Stripe Identity, an independent third-party verification service. If you elect or are required to complete verification, Stripe may ask you to submit identifying information, a government-issued identification document, and an image of your face. Stripe collects and processes that information — including any biometric information derived from it — under its own terms and privacy policy and presents the disclosures and obtains the consents applicable to its process.
GoatRent receives the outcome of the verification session and limited associated information, and handles that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. GoatRent does not receive or store your biometric identifiers or the facial images submitted to Stripe. A Verified Identity designation reflects only that Stripe reported the configured checks as completed successfully at the time of the session.
How do we use your information?
We use personal information to:
- Operate, maintain, and provide the Platform, including Accounts, Profiles, Listings, search, and the Messaging Tool;
- Display the content you choose to make available to other Users;
- Provide and administer identity verification designations;
- Provide, bill for, and measure Advertising Services you purchase;
- Provide automated and AI-assisted features described in the Terms of Use, such as translation, summaries, formatting assistance, recommendations, and content-moderation support;
- Monitor, protect, and secure the Platform, including detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms and policies;
- Analyze and improve the Platform, develop new features, and understand how Users interact with our services;
- Communicate with you, including service, security, legal, and Account communications, responses to your requests, and — where permitted by law and subject to your opt-out rights — marketing communications;
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use and other agreements, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Users, the Company, and others.
Automated and AI-assisted features. Content you submit may be processed by automated tools, including artificial-intelligence-assisted features, to provide the functionality described above. These tools may be operated by service providers on our behalf, and those providers are permitted to process your content only to provide services to us. We do not use these features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
When and with whom do we disclose your information?
- Other Users and the public. Your Listings, Profile information, verification status, ratings, and reviews are visible to other Users and, depending on the feature, may be publicly visible. Messages you send are visible to their recipients.
- Service providers. We disclose information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting and cloud infrastructure, analytics, identity verification (Stripe), payment processing for Advertising Services, email delivery, customer support, security, and AI model and tooling providers. These vendors are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal, safety, and compliance. We may disclose information to comply with law or legal process; to respond to lawful requests from public authorities; to enforce our Terms of Use and other policies; to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Users, the Company, and others.
- Business transfers. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of insolvency.
- With your direction or consent. We may disclose information for other purposes at your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for those parties' own direct marketing without your consent. However, our use of third-party advertising and analytics cookies may be treated as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out of those cookies at any time through the Cookie Preference Center, and we honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control where required by applicable law.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and support advertising. The specific technologies we use, their purposes, and your controls are described in our Cookie Policy and the Cookie Preference Center.
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no industry standard for responding to them, the Platform does not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of cookie-based sharing and targeted advertising where required by applicable law.
How long do we keep your information?
We retain personal information for as long as your Account is active and as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. When determining retention periods, we consider the nature of the information, the purposes for which it was collected, legal and regulatory requirements, the needs of fraud prevention and security, dispute records, enforcement of our agreements, and the operation of backups and archives. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or isolate it from further processing, subject to our legal obligations.
How do we protect your information?
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information appropriate to its nature. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for using reasonable security measures, and you should promptly notify us at admin@goatrent.com if you believe your Account has been compromised.
What choices do you have?
- Account information. You can review and update your Account and Profile information through your Account settings and may request closure of your Account as described in the Terms of Use.
- Marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe instructions in the message or your Account settings. We will still send essential service, security, legal, and transactional communications while your Account is active. Where separate consent is required for marketing calls or text messages, we will request it separately.
- Cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through the Cookie Preference Center and your browser controls, as described in the Cookie Policy.
Your U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights under applicable state privacy laws, subject to certain conditions and exceptions:
- To confirm whether we process your personal information and to access a copy of it, including in a portable format;
- To correct inaccuracies in your personal information;
- To delete personal information you provided or that we obtained about you;
- To opt out of targeted advertising, the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and certain profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects;
- To limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
- Not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights. You or your authorized agent may submit a request by emailing admin@goatrent.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your request using the email address associated with your Account and, where necessary, additional reasonable information; authorized agents must provide evidence of their authority. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may opt out of cookie-based sharing and targeted advertising through the Cookie Preference Center or a Global Privacy Control signal, as described above.
Appeals. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." If your appeal is unsuccessful, you may contact your state Attorney General or other supervisory authority, where applicable law provides.
California residents. In the preceding twelve months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in "What information do we collect?" above, which correspond to the following categories under California law: identifiers; commercial information; internet or other electronic network activity information; approximate geolocation data; audio and visual information (such as photographs you upload); professional or business information; and inferences drawn from the foregoing. We collect this information from the sources, for the purposes, and with the categories of recipients described in this Privacy Policy. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit under California law, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under sixteen (16) years of age. California's "Shine the Light" law permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; as stated above, we do not make such disclosures without consent.
Nevada residents. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. Nevada residents may nonetheless submit opt-out requests to admin@goatrent.com.
Children's privacy
The Platform is not directed to persons under eighteen (18) years of age, and minors are not permitted to create an Account or use the Platform, as described in the Terms of Use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Platform, please contact us at admin@goatrent.com, and we will delete that information as required by law.

The Platform is controlled and operated from the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and understand that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States.
Third-party links and services
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party websites, applications, and services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every service you use.
How will we notify you of changes to this Privacy Policy?
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Platform and update the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the Platform, by email, or by another reasonable method, and will obtain any consent required by applicable law.
