Trust & Safety
Is GoatRent safe to use?
Yes. Every transaction is backed by our robust Trust & Safety ecosystem. Users can verify their identity using Stripe Identity (facial and biometric document matching), earning a premium "Trust Badge" on their profile. Furthermore, all text on our platform (listings and reviews) is actively moderated by our AI to filter out spam, profanity, and scams.
How do reviews work?
Our review system uses "Bayesian Reputation Math". This means our system weights ratings by the volume of reviews, preventing outliers (like a single 5-star or 1-star review) from skewing a user's true reliability score.
What if an item gets damaged during a rental?
When you meet to exchange a rental, both parties use the "QR Handshake" to launch the transaction. During this scan, you are required to take "Before and After" photos to log the exact condition of the item. In the event of a dispute over damages, these photo-evidence vaults are used to automatically mitigate the issue through our secure Stripe infrastructure.

How much does it cost to list an item?
It is 100% free to create a listing and browse the marketplace. We do not charge subscription fees or hidden costs.
How do I create a listing?
Just snap a photo! GoatRent uses a "Photo-First" AI system powered by Google's Vertex AI Gemini. When you upload an image, our AI instantly recognizes the item, suggests the correct category, drafts a title and description, and fills out the technical specifications for you.
How can I make my listing stand out?
While our core platform is free, you can voluntarily purchase "Promoted Listings" to boost your visibility. Options include Color Highlights, Bump Ups, and TOP Placement on the map. Plus, active users in good standing get a free Search Boost every 14 days.
Booking & Transactions
How do I pay for rentals or purchases?
All digital transactions, optional promotions, and security deposits flow natively through our secure Stripe Checkout and Connect infrastructure.
How does the rental process work?
When you find an item on our map, you can send a direct Request with your desired dates and delivery preferences. The owner will review your request and hit "Approve". When you meet in person, you simply scan the owner's QR code to securely launch the rental, process the payment, and track the exact time the rental begins.
